LED light cove mouldings hide an LED strip behind a shaped profile so the light washes across the ceiling and upper wall: cove lighting and indirect ceiling lighting for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and commercial interiors. LC-01 to LC-08 are lightweight EPS mouldings with a plaster-based coating; the LED strip and power supply are bought separately.

Installing a light cove

- Measure, cut and glue the moulding to the wall or bulkhead
- Seal the joints, sand lightly and paint
- Install the LED strip and test the light before closing access

What is LED cove lighting?
LED cove lighting is indirect lighting: an LED strip is hidden behind a moulding so the light reflects off the ceiling or upper wall instead of shining directly into the room. A light cove moulding gives the strip a neat, shaped place to sit.
Do the light cove mouldings include the LED lights?
No. LC-01 to LC-08 are mouldings designed to conceal an LED strip; the strip and power supply are chosen separately. Check the profile drawing for the strip position and clearances before you choose.
How do I install cove lighting?
Plan the run, cut and fit the mouldings, bond them with drywall compound or Alex Flex Moulding and Trim Sealant (support nails if needed), then finish the joints and paint. Mount the LED strip and have all electrical connections made by a licensed electrical professional. See the LED light cove installation guide.
Can I install cove lighting without a false ceiling?
These mouldings are installed along the wall below the ceiling line to create an illuminated reveal, so a dropped (false) ceiling is not required. Check the profile drawing for the clearances your room needs.
Which light cove profile should I choose?
LC-01 and LC-07 are designed for horizontal outside bulkhead corners. LC-02 to LC-06 suit a flat-wall arrangement, and LC-08 has a smooth, flowing curve for a clean reveal. Order a sample to compare the shape and finish.
How much does cove lighting cost?
